The loss was made extra bitter by the fact that both previous qualifier engagements against EHOME saw the team walk away with convincing 2-0 victories.

On the way to securing their spot at the $500,000 event in Moscow, EHOME secured second in group A after posting a 2/0/1 performance, where series victories against D7G and Aster were secured. They then outperformed OneThree in the playoffs' upper bracket semi-final, but were later knocked into the consolidation final by TYLOO.

A rematch against OneThree was once more fruitful, ensuring the team's spot in the grand final, where a third pairing against TYLOO took place.
